With fee-shifting statutes and clauses expanding, litigation over attorney fees has reached record levels around the country. Recovering attorney fees often involves issues as complex as the case itself and knowing the standards and ethical rules will help you to maximize your attorney fee award.
Join James E. King - an expert in attorney fee disputes – as he uses case law, advisory opinions, and Model Rules to detail both the ethics and reasonableness of attorney fees.
Mr. King discusses ‘non-refundable retainers, classic retainers, flat fee agreements with incentivization, hourly agreements, the reasonableness of fees, attorney-client fee disputes, detecting attorney bill padding, block billing, fees descriptions in billing, fee requests, and loadstar statutes.
Cases discussed include Fletcher v. Davis, Schatz v. Allen Matkins, Ramirez v. Sturdevant, Banning Ranch Conservancy v Superior Court of Orange County, Adams, et al. v. Colony Park Estates, and Welch v. Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
